At your service? Not likely!

I met two people from a very large bank at a networking meeting in London last week. Why do people from large companies always go around in 2s?

So, I had a 1-2-1 chat with one of them. He seemed like a nice guy. I told him the story of how I had been with that particular bank from the age of 17 until I was 48, when I suddenly got fed up with being treated like a number rather than a person and changed banks.

“Oh, that’s all changed now,” he said.

Later, when I looked at his business card, it had the number of a call centre on it, so even if I had wanted to call the guy direct, I couldn’t have.

Nothing’s changed with that bank. Living Inside the Brand. No chance!
