Great café brightens journey

Hungry, rather bored and not on a nice road I needed a break.  Thinking I was exiting for the Services in 1/3 mile, I actually drew into a garden centre/ nursery with an adjacent café.  That ‘wrong’ turning was actually a ‘blessing in disguise’.

From the outside it didn’t look mWecloming interioruch but step inside and there was a fabulous atmosphere.  Bright, clean, airy with a wafting aroma of home cooking.  The staff were friendly, engaging and keen to please.  Food was quick, hot, tasty, wholesome. And the deserts…oh my.  I fell in love with a flapjack!

This was an unusual travel experience because I wanted to stay rather than getting back in the car.

Their website promises “a friendly, family run restaurant serving the finest freshest food you’ll find on the A12!”

And they deliver.  So a Living Inside the Brand experience.  Wonder if they’d like to take over some other roadside cafés?

PS: Find the Harvest Moon Café located between Colchester and Ipswich at Capel St Mary, on the Ipswich-bound track of the A12 at Junction 32a. Lookout for Bypass Nurseries and you’ll have found the Harvest Moon too.
